Dosage

      Life Extension is one brand I really trust for their innovative research. They are always upgrading based on new science, and I really appreciate that. I don't know that anything changed when I took DHEA by Life Extension, but if you definitely need it, this is a great brand.

      I experienced better mood as a 32 year old man at 100mg a day, but I stopped taking it.

      Pros

      DHEA by Life Extension will give your body a chance to get some extra testosterone and estrogen. These levels and circulating DHEA can decline with age. Especially useful if you're stressed out as pregnolone, before being converted to DHEA can end up using all most of its conversion to create cortisol. Hence, DHEA can help men by putting the testosterone/cortisol ratio in a better balance. Supplementing with Dhea and 50mg 12 hours before hit training increased testosterone in untrained individuals over 300 percent in men over 50. It's probably not a long term solution, but it could help you jump start getting active.

      Cons

      From what I've read from Mercola, and bodybuildling forums, Oral Dhea has the side effect of many metabolites that you DON"T want. All though rare, these could POSSIBLY include gynecomastia symptoms in men, although very rare I think. Mercola funnily enough recommends men take DHEA spray or cream transvaginally or rectally! If you're taking DHEA it's probably worth it to do it that way, and be safer. Also, you should probably be under the care of a doctor or regularly monitor your dhea and other hormones, although I haven't found any studies that show DHEA will cause a hormonally imbalance in men.
